What Is TUDCA? Benefits, Dosage, Side Effects & Where To Buy
Table of Contents
TUDCA is a supplement I discovered a couple of years ago. It had positive benefits for me, and I want to talk to you about the exact TUDCA benefits you can experience as well.
I’ll explain exactly what this naturally occurring health supplement is, and how it’s constructed for sale. I’ll explain how it works in the body, and the positive effects it can have.
We will also cover the dosage range, how long you should use it for (cycle length), side effects to watch out for, and which format of this supplement is best to use.
One of the biggest problems with buying any supplements online is getting them with high purity. At the end of this review, I will talk you through where you can find TUDCA the sale that’s independently verified as having high purity.
What Is TUDCA Exactly?
TUDCA, or Tudca, is shortened name for Tauroursodeoxycholic acid. It occurs naturally in the human body, and in the body of many other animals as well.
It’s a bile acid derivative that’s been used in traditional medicine for more than a thousand years. In fact, it’s been known in, and reference buys, Chinese traditional medicine for longer than that.
It’s been linked with a range of therapeutic benefits, including hepatic disorders, kidney health, I health, detoxification, heat illness, reducing fever and related muscle spasms, and better digestion.
Bile acids are a combination of acids, water, electrolytes, and various other molecules that combine together to perform a function in the body. Mostly, they work in the gut, helping as to absorb fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E, and K).
They also help to break down foods, as well as remove harmful bacteria and break down cholesterol to remove more it from the body.
TUDCA is created from another bile acid, which is created through the metabolization of bile salts. I’ll explain more about the process in a moment, but higher levels of TUDCA have been scientifically associated with improvement for a wide range of conditions.
How TUDCA Works
Bile salts get released into your intestines. This is done through the liver bile duct. After that, the bile salts are metabolized into something called UDCA, or Ursodeoxycholic acid. In the lower intestine, the UDCA mixes with taurine, and then returns to the liver, it creates TUDCA, a secondary bile acid.
This then gets returned to the gut, where it helps with digestion, including the processing of fat-soluble vitamins, breaking down cholesterol, and destroying potentially dangerous bacteria.
What I will say here is that when you buy a TUDCA supplement, you are not getting real bile acid. So don’t worry, this hasn’t come from a human digestive system, nor an animal one!
What happens is the correct ingredients are fermented and then process to create TUDCA via artificial industrial means. You’re getting the exact same acid construction, but it’s made outside the body to then be turned into a suspended liquid, or more usually, dried out into a powder.
TUDCA Benefits & Positive Effects Explained
Now you understand a bit more about what TUDCA is, and how it works in the body, let’s talk about the TUDCA benefits you can potentially derive from taking this supplement.
It’s actually quite an impressive list, with the main positive effects being:
- Increases ability to absorb higher amounts of fat-soluble vitamins
- Breaks down foods more thoroughly
- Removes more cholesterol from the body
- Destroys higher levels of harmful bacteria
- Helps to detoxify the liver
- Can help with vision problems
- Increasing idea TUDCA has neuroprotective properties
- Improve cognitive function
- Works as a Mitochondrial stabilizer
- Supports insulin sensitivity
That’s one hell of a list, and unfortunately, some of those aren’t scientifically proven. They have been partly through animal studies or strong anecdotal evidence through it uses traditional medicine, but only some of them have been, or are beginning to be, proven to a higher level of scientific scrutiny.
But let’s take a look at a few of the key ones from that list now.
1. One of the most important to me is the fact that it can potentially improve cognitive function and have neuroprotective properties. It does this by being a Mitochondrial stabilizer.
Every cell in the body derives most of its energy from the inside through organelles called Mitochondria. Dysfunction in this area can lead to a change in programmed cell death, the automated refreshing of cells in the body.
When this goes wrong, cell death is more frequent, or unbalanced, which can lead to build-up of dead cells in the brain, literally clogging up the neurological passages. Over time, this leads to cognitive decline and has been shown to be contributing factor to diseases like Alzheimer’s.
Not only has TUDCA been shown to regulate this activity, but it’s actually been shown to improve it. That means not only a cellular death regulated, but it’s lessened, allowing the cells to work for longer, minimizing this buildup. So you’ve got a double positive of less cell death, and fewer of the wrong cells start apoptosis, which means less chance of developing cognitive problems.
2. I think another important one is liver health. Liver problems can occur in a wide range of people, especially people with developing cirrhosis. TUDCA has been shown in studies to lower the levels of damaging liver enzymes.
In one study, 750 mg per day over six months, significantly lowered all participants damaging liver enzymes, slowing and even stopping damage to the liver.
TUDCA bodybuilding possibilities also exist. It can be used to sharpen up your motivation and to help during a cutting cycle.
TUDCA Dosage & Cycle Length Discussion
For me, there’s enough evidence that this supplement can have positive health benefits both in the body and mind for the long term. So when we are talking about a cycle length for using TUDCA, really we are talking about using it as an ongoing daily supplement.
The TUDCA dosage range is tough to determine because it’s never been through full human studies for the variety of reasons that benefits seem to apply. A low dose seems to be about 150 mg. 500 mg a mid-range dose, 750 mg a high dose, and 1000 mg the highest dose I’ve seen humans take in a study.
The higher the dose, the more chance of side effects kicking in though. So for me, I would start at 150 mg, and work up over a few weeks until you get to around 500 mg, and then stick there unless you really feel you want a higher dose to try and derive better levels of benefit.
Are There Any Bad Side Effects To Watch Out For?
I’ve talked a lot already about exactly what is Tudca and the benefits you can get from using it. Now I want to cover the potential for side effects when you take this supplement. The great news is that a lot of people use this supplement and don’t have any negative side effects at all.
Some people do seem to get dose-dependent side effects. The higher the dose, the more chance there is of nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.
So it appears that high doses can upset the natural balance too quickly and create upset in your digestive system and stomach.
For me, starting at the lowest possible dose of around 150 mg is crucial. Work up a dose level at a time until you get to about 500 mg and see if it’s tolerable. If it is, go up to around 750 mg and see if it is still tolerable. If it is, I would top out your dose is 750 mg, and probably drop back to 500 mg just to be safe.
How To Find TUDCA For Sale
I hope this TUDCA review/guide to the benefits it can bring has been helpful to you. I tried to keep it simple so that it’s not too technical. For me, it’s definitely a positive supplement that has made my gut health far better.
A lot of people look for TUDCA powder to buy. I guess they think it’s the format you get in, and some people want the cheapest format possible.
Although the powder is cheap, it’s not the best way to take this, or indeed any supplements. You have to weigh it, you have to deal with a powder, you have to deal with dissolving and consuming it. None of that is usually particularly easy or pleasant when compared to other formats.
By far the most convenient way of getting your daily TUDCA dosage is to buy capsules.
Swiss Chems are where I get most of my supplements from. They sell TUDCA powder in capsules for a very reasonable price.
Right now, for just $29.95, you can get 60 capsules. Each capsule is a 150 mg dose. That means you going to get 60 daily doses at that level, or 30 daily doses if you go for a strong low initial dose of 300 mg. Even if you settle at 450 mg per day, you’re still only going to be paying around $40 per month to derive benefits from this supplement.
